Mr. Malik is a lawyer by qualification. He did his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from NALSAR University of law, Hyderabad. He did his masters in law from Oxford University, UK. Prior to getting into the IAS, he practiced law at the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court.
He is a sports enthusiast, who has played cricket at Oxford University, and was a high ranked tennis player during his school days, and squash player during his lawyer days.
